ANAPA is on a distinguished road
Default Littleton

I've heard some very nice things about this part of Denver. I have a few questions though..

1. Is it considered a suburb, a sub-divison, etc?

2. Does anyone know of any nice apartment complexes? Right now I'm thinking of checking out AMLI at Park Meadows
AMLI at Park Meadows - Littleton, CO Apartments

or...

Marston Pointe

Does anyone have any personal info or opinions on these places and how close are they to the light rail and is the neighborhood safe?

Is there a lot of blue collar work in the area? I'm a house painter by trade and am in the middle of a mid-life career change, but will have to fall back on that old trade as I'm still studying graphic design.

And of course any over-all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS, I'm also sort of thinking about the Capitol Hill area since I hear it's rather bohemian and artsy, but I'm concerned about crime and don't feel like having my car stolen.

Littleton is an incorporated city - a suburb, not a subdivision like Highlands Ranch. There are also several unincorporated areas that have Littleton addresses. I don't know specifics about apartments, etc.

Yep. I lived in unicorporated Arapaho County (address now in Centennial) and had a Littleton address. I liked it a lot. Very suburban but pretty quiet and nice.

My townhouse backed up against the greenbelt though (three blocks from Greenwood Village) so it's a bit different than the area the OP is talking about. The area I was in, I would move back to again if I couldn't live elsewhere.

Neither of those complexes are in Littleton. But...Littleton is an awesome area- low crime and it has excellent schools. East Littleton supports the lightrail and still has the "small town" feel- don't be surprised if you run into people you know occasionally! Apartments are all over the place by both branches of light rail (the one that runs to lone tree and the one to littleton). Rent in Littleton is a tad lower than you might find in Lone tree, and Littleton has the history behind it that people love.

Remember that anyone can write anything they want in Wikipedia: Capitol Hill's reputation is worse than the today's reality since things have cleaned up a lot in the last 5 years or so. You still hear the stories about all the drug dealing and prostitution on East Colfax in Capitol Hill, but most of that has been pushed further east by the police presence and the changes in the neighborhood. Anything going on now is pretty discreet.

Outright theft of your car is not really all that common there. Car break-ins, unfortunately, do happen; a fact of life of living in the city. If that's a big concern, why not simply live in a building with secured parking? That would eliminate that worry.
