Hey, one year it snowed for the Monarch HS prom that was the first weekend in May. I have gotten used to it, am kind of sad when the snow stops.

This was my first actual winter. I grew up in Southern California, where our winter was simple occasional rainstorms. However, I've always loved the snow. The first snow we had this winter (Oct 21), I didn't want to sleep because it was so beautiful and I felt like I'd be missing something. That feeling has now subsided and I can go about my days being able to sleep when it's snowing I love the peacefulness of the snow, and the beauty of snow cover, it provides me with a sense of ease and happiness. I hate when it goes away, but that too has gotten easier with time. My body has adapted to the cold and now the upper 40's even feel warm. I can't wait until next winter!

People always tell me I'll grow sick and tired of the cold and snow. To me, the worst weather is sunny and warm. If I do ever tire of the weather here, I simply will move away, which is all somebody can do if they really don't like where they are.

I wonder if adapting to the cold makes Denver's summers more miserable. I live in SoCal too and have never really liked the heat. Denver's summers are warmer than where I live now. I wonder if a winter of adjusting to the cold (where upper 40's become "warm") will make 90+ feel even hotter to me than it does now.

Yeah I hear it is snowing right now in Boulder/Louisville area but the front range usually misses some weather down in Boulder/Denver, though it can get a lil more windy here but try Wyoming, practically the whole state is windy and as the saying "wait 10 minutes." The whole midwest is like that as well.

To EscapeCalifornia: Probably not. I mean, they're so diametrically opposite. The heat is opressive sometimes, IMO. But then, I'm from Pittsburgh, which has 6 90+ degree days/summer average, and Denver has like 33 in an average summer and sometimes way more. The good thing about Denver's summer is that it is mainly from mid-June to mid to late August, as opposed to Ill where the hot weather starts in early May sometimes.

Maltose is on a distinguished road
Whatever weather you have in Denver, it isn't as bad as the weather in ND. We had 60 degree temps last week and yesterday had 8 inches of snow and 30-40 mph winds. I94 and I29 were closed south of Fargo until tongiht. Today it only got to the upper 30s and the wind was still gusting in the upper 30s.
This week aside, temps go from -35 or more in the winter to 100+ in the summer with dew points in the 60s and 70s in July/August. ND is known for its wind also. The F5 tornado rating was created after the 1957 tornado in Fargo. And don't forget the mosquitos in the summer.
I guess my point is whatever your issue, there is always somewhere worse off and it isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

It didn't stick. It was well above freezing while it was snowing today.
