NOAA has officially rated the May 22, 2008 tornado that hit north of Denver as an EF3. 1 fatality and over 30+ injuries were recorded. The tornado ran a path of 34 miles . I believe that these tornadoes will become more frequent and more powerful. The amount of tornadoes this year in the USA have broken records. It is a REALLY BAD year for weather disasters.

Well, I've lived in Denver now for two weeks. It's been sunny almost every day I've been here and has barely rained. There's no humidity, it's nice and warm during the day and cools a little at night. Meanwhile, the South is getting a huge drought, the East is scorching hot and my home state, Iowa, is seeing the worst natural disaster in its state history. I think I'll stay here.

Two weeks is NOT a valid representation of the weather of an area. If the last 2 weeks were the predominant weather pattern for Denver, more people would live here, probably millions more. Unfortunately, the reality is that you will get -30F temperatures, you will get 60MPH+ winds, tornadoes, lightening, 95F+ temps, blizzards, 12"+ of snow in a day during winter, erratic temperature swings, freezing rain, hail, ice, sleet, winter white out conditions, etc.
Two weeks in early JUNE is NOT a valid representation of an areas weather. You have experienced the BEST SIDE (70F-80F & sunny) but it can and does get worse from here.

Seriously WHY do you lie like this?? Must we go over it yet again? It DOES NOT get down to -30 in Denver! Repeat DOES NOT! In fact, it never got below 0 last winter in the city! (windchills are not the same as the low temperature! Neither are heat indexes the same as official highs) Tornadoes are an extreme rarity in Denver, 60 + winds - huh? Never experienced that. Blizzards? I've now spent 7 winters in Denver and only seen ONE blizzard. Freezing rain? I've never seen an ice event in Denver, Sleet? I don't think I've even seen sleet here before. 12+ inches of snow in a day? I've seen it happen here on two or three occassions, but never happened last winter. White out conditions? Hmmm... I think I've seen that twice. 95+ temps? Maybe, in an average summer, less than 10 times, but then 100 degree heat doesn't feel too bad here since it's not humid, so what's your point? The only part of your little "sky is falling" rant that has any truth is about erratic temperature fluctuations, but that doesn't really happen in summer. In fact, our weather is currently beautiful and will remain that way through the summer - lots of sun, warm days, cool nights, low humidity - really the same climate as you get in many parts of California. I grew up in the Midwest and there's a reason why people prefer Denver's climate. It's way more comfortable here all summer and even many winter days than pretty much anywhere east of here.
I don't understand your deal. Why do you come here and scream about the weather in Denver, exaggerate and even lie about it? What do you care? If you live here and hate it so much, then work on moving to wherever you can find with a perfect climate and no weather.

The only "hateful" acts here are those who advocate & promote sinful behavior like homosexuality. You see nothing wrong with it but your "opinion" is worthless. God says it is WRONG & those people need to trust in Jesus Christ before they die, or they will face eternal punishment.
Just in the same way ANYONE who does not trust in Christ (heterosexual and all), will die in their sins and face God and will face an eternity in hell. A just God CANNOT allow sinful behavior to go unpunished.

You are so right... I have a theory based on your infinite wisdom... all of us in Denver are actually living in HELL. We have all been condemned to HELL here in Denver and don't even know it. I think maybe we that dwell in Denver are all heathens -- either homosexuals, unrepentant sinners, devil worshippers or all three. Of course there seem to be a few righteous Denverites who realize the error of their ways and somehow repent and are allowed to move to Phoenix. Perhaps I will join you there once I come to grips with my sinful ways.

Chance of a -30F, 60MPH blizzard or F2+ tornado with 20 miles of Denver this year: 3%
Chance of LBear obsessing over it and telling everyone its a daily occurrence: 100%

First, take a deep breath and calm down. Nobody is "lying". I responded to someone's post and kept it neutral. Being that you are "denverian", it is quite clear that you pride yourself in being a Denver resident & you are taking it PERSONALLY. Let's look at this LOGICALLY and NOT emotionally. All city loyalties aside, let the facts speak:

LIE#1 by denverian
Feb 2, 2007 - Temperature was -18F below zero. With the windchill it was -25F to -50F below zero. The wind chill is VITAL and makes a BIG DIFFERENCE as the wind chill is the ACTUAL TEMPERATURE the human body will feel. A temperature of -5F occurring with a 20MPH wind, gives a wind chill of -30F. This means that your body will lose heat at the same rates as it would be if the air temperature were -30F with NO wind. Wind chills are REAL and KILL people.
The low temperature recorded for Denver was -25°F in 1990. That was WITHOUT wind chill. With the wind chill, it was -50F to -60F below zero. Then a -29F below zero was recorded in the late 1800's. That was also WITHOUT wind chill.

Per NOAA, between NOV 2007 - FEB 2008, Denver had:
6 days of zero or below zero temperatures (NOT counting wind chill - add another -20F or -30F to that with wind chill)
15 days of single digit temperature (WITHOUT wind chill)

So far we have caught you with THREE LIES. Shall we continue??? You ENTIRE POST is filled with blatant lies. I can totally DESTROY each statement you made with my FACTS and not emotions, as you have used emotions to state your case, I used FACTS.
