The more people they can get to live here, the more money they make. It is a scam.

By that definition, Denver has about 360 sunny days a year. I am not a native, but my kids are, and I have lived here longer than they have (28 yrs). There are some winter days that are harsh, no doubt. But unless you are from the southeast or the sunbelt, you will think Denver's winters are pretty mild. You don't know what winter is until you have spent one in the upper Midwest. Someone who lived their entire life in Denver would not know that.

I not trying to upset you, but denver, by any definition does not have 360 days of sunshine. Did you mean 260? Technically there are 365, as long as you count the sun above the clouds. I thought the weather was dramatic in Denver, and I came from the Pac NW.
Its 108 here in Phoenix, and that feels so much beter on my skin and face than 3 degrees and a wicked bite of the wind. In fact, it feels good oddly enough. Just make sure ya use sunscreen.

Denver has at least 350-360 sunny days per year. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, a gloomy place on the order of Seattle, I kept wishing for days when the sun didn't come out at all. They are darn few.
And I don't mean to upset you, but you didn't even live here a year, no?

are you counting a day when the sun makes a 2 minute show thru the clouds or something, because, if thats your definition, then Seattle must get at least 300 days of sunshine a year by that measurement. I lived in Loveland for 6 months, and we had at least 20 days of gloom in that period. Avondale az (my neck of the woods), does not even get that much sunshine, and its the sunniest place in the USA.

I was saying, by that definition, which LBear posted and says the Chamber of Commerce uses. Obviously, that is not what the National Weather Service says. But having lived in CO for 28 yrs, I can say, there are very few totally gloomy, overcast days of the kind one sees in Pittsburgh, where the light activated street lights are on all day at times in the winter.

You are all splitting hairs here. 365 partly cloudy days, 364 partly cloudy days. Lived there for 25 years and LBear is basically correct. Your Memorial Day and 4th of July picnics are always in jeopardy. And you can pretty much kiss Sept through May goodbye.

In the 27 4ths of July that we have lived in Colorado, there have been 13 days with a high of 90 or greater, slightly under half. One day, one, mind you, was 69 degrees, one 70 and one 78. The rest were in the 80s. That is picnic weather to me! My daughter's birthday is July 4, so I have a tendency to remember those days. Memorial Day, yes, that is a different story.

I'm still amazed -- why is the the Phoenix people always talking trash about Denver on this board? Why is this thread even continuing over and over again like a broken record? Get a life guys, get over it. Go outside and do something... oh, wait... you're in Phoenix, never mind.

Well you have a point, I really have nothing better to do. I guess I feel that Denver rippped me a new one when lived there. Its just fun to call it rotten names now that Ive escaped.
Ill be BBQing today outside, swimming after dark, unless it starts snowing...oh wait, thats right, im NOT in colorado.
Whats wrong with rehashing it over and over and over. Maybe one of us will win!!!!!!!
Its the same on the phoenix boards, except its Texans that rip us all the time. I cant figure that one out. I lived in Texas too, and I find Colorado and Arizona 100 times better than that place.
Maybe Az doesnt like ya because you kicked the Diamond Backs butts in the NLCS.

If anyone would like some verification of my 4th of July data, here is my source:
ESRL : PSD : Boulder Colorado monthly mean maximum temperatures 1893-present
The temps are for Boulder. They will not be much different for Denver.
