Moving near water purification plant CONCERNED!
my husband and I are in the middle of buying a home and just found out that a new water purification treatment plant will be nearby...in fact, the recycled water from the plant will be flowing in the creek behind our house.
the plant is about 3/4 a mile from our home.
I'm very concerned about the future value of our home and how this will effect it. Also concerned with any odors....contamination...just worried.
Havent decided if we are going to move on with the construction of our home.
Has anyone lived near one? or know more about it?
I appreciate all tips/advice!

Do you mean a wastewater treatment plant? I live near one now. Its a large facility and the only end that consistently smells like a sewer is thankfully about a mile and a half away. BUT, if the wind changes from its normal direction, that smell can get blown my way. So if I were you, I'd definitely check out the prevailing winds in your area. I wouldn't worry about the water they discharge.

thanks for the tips!
it is a water purification plant...absolutely no sewage/wastewater involved...
just purifying water to be used in residences.

I have worked in them. As long as it's not sewage , you won't even know it is there. The only thing I can think of would be any lights that may be around it. You might be able to check with the city to see the plans and ask any questions about the buildings/tanks etc. I would bet you could even get a tour of a working plant if you ask them.

Give us a rough address-there's some kind of treatment plant along the Platte river NE of downtown that is so offensive, I can't even ride down the bike path without gagging if not puking. It's freaking horendous, but I think it's a sewage treatment joint.
