Default Moving to Denver/Broomfield next month :)

Hi all,

The dear fiance left Vegas this morning on his way to Lakewood, CO where he has an extended stay until we find a long-term rental home. My daughter hasn't finished school here yet so we're staying behind until the first week of June.

His office will be in Arvada and we're considering the Broomfield area. My daughter will be going into the 5th grade and I'm doing research on some elementary and middle schools and hope we can find a great rental home in a great school area that allows pets and has a halfway decent sized yard.

Does the Denver area get a lot of thunderstorms? Living in Hawaii the past 4 yrs and then here in Vegas for 6 months and I can count on one hand how many t-storms I've seen. I miss them!

Anyhow, am looking forward to becoming a part of your beautiful area of the country and hope it all works out better for us there than here in Vegas!!!

We get some, in the summer obviously. But not as many as they do in the desert, like in Grand Junction. In Denver in the summertime we probably get 1 to 3 afternoon thunderstorms a week, and only a really big one overhead every 2 weeks.

The downside, of course, is hail storms. Every few years, a different part of the Denver metro area gets hit by a hail storm big enough to cause property damage.
