Default Don't want to commute - where to live?

I'm new to Denver, renting downtown. I work downtown and love being able to commute by foot for 10 minutes a day. Don't mind running errands, and would be fine riding the light rail or a bus if I had to. Want to buy a single family home in an area that is suitable for young couples/30 somethings. I really, really don't want to commute for more than about 20 minutes though. Any ideas on neighborhoods. Highlands and Wash Park seem great to me, but don't know if I can afford those areas with the upgrades I'm hoping for, so was wondering about other neighborhoods. Any ideas???

Sounds like you're already in the perfect location, but what can you afford?

Sorry - forgot to add that. Was hoping to find something like a 2 bed/2 bath and stay under $250,000 - which doesn't seem possible downtown, so I was wondering how far out I'd have to go to find that, but still be in as short of a commute area as possible. My spot is perfect right now, just small, and in an apartment complex with a young crowd.

There are links to lots of information about neighborhoods in the Denver Index Thread.
