So it's about time..
Okay, so I'm the first to admit I LOVE the sun and cherish the amount we get in Denver. I do, however, have to admit the occasional rainy day is very refreshing (and in many cases, badly needed). I woke up this morning to thunder, lightning and a steady rainfall. The grime left over from winter is being washed away. The rain smells so clean.
Tomorrow morning, when the sun breaks the horizon, the air will feel vibrant and refreshed. I just love these kinds of days. Once in a while.

I do love the way the air smells after a good soaking. And sleeping during it isn't half bad either

Amen to that! Nothing like falling asleep to the sound of moving water; be it from the sky or in a riverbed.
I feel bad for those who didn't get rain this morning (I know some didn't). The time will come.

I'm with you, NickMan... I'm a sunshine lover, but I LOVE a good rainy day sometimes. It feels so refreshing. It would be nice if we had a few more rainy days around here.

Yes, as soon as I heard that thunder last night I was really happy for some rain. We haven't turned our sprinklers on yet and our grass really needed this! Everything looks greener suddenly!

Being from Pittsburgh, where it rains/snows 180 days/yr, I miss rain, and I love May b/c it is the rainiest month.
My kids grew up here and don't share my feelings as much. My younger daughter went to college in Indiana for 2 yrs, where it rains a lot. One time, she was back here in March for a break and it was raining. We saw some little kids sticking out their tongues to catch the raindrops. She laughed, and I reminded her those kids probably hadn't seen rain in 6 months!

There was actually hail early this morning in southwest Boulder, pea size but enough to cover the ground. It lingered on the ground for several hours afterwards.
I am hoping this rain keeps up the rest of the week. We barely got 0.1 inches at my house.

I can't wait until we get a whopper thunderstorm with hail and lightning and torrential rain! Am I alone in this?
