Cat Vets in North Denver
I'm looking for a good recommendation for a loving vet, one that treats cats. There are so many out there and I'm afraid to just pick one.

My vet in Louisville, Dr. Bender at Louisville Veterinary Clinic, is really nice, but that may be a bit far for you since you live in Thornton (I think).

You could also try Planned Pethood on Tennyson St at about 39th Ave, in Berkeley. We take our dog here and they are very down-to-earth and are more conservative in their treatments, i.e. not a bunch of expensive, unnecessary test, meds, etc. They of course look after cats too.

hey thanks you two, I am in Thornton. There is one right down the street, Cottonwood, I think? But I can't really find any information on them. I'll keep yours in mind. Louisville might be hard to drive to since we are just now getting her used to traveling. She didn't do so well when we took her home from Dumb Friends League. It was about 20 minutes and boy was she yowling!

Maybe Dumb Friends League could recommend someplace for you, since you got the cat there.

I thought about that. Do you think it's a reliable way to go?

Yes, if they are willing to give out names.

I found a good one! I think. I went to the Vet Association, then wandered around there. You can also go to the Colo. licensing board and check for violations. Although not all are reported. Probably because some are just petty and they don't want to skewer the professional. Anyway, I'm going to the Community Pet Hospital in Thornton. I checked out every doc there, plus they have 24 hr. service. Very good. thanks for the thoughts everyone.

Good to hear. You will need it. Our cats generally used up their nine lives. One drank out of the toilet when there was toilet bowl cleaner in it. She was very sick, but she lived, thanks to the vet. Now we put the lid down when we clean toilets.
Another one got cancer of the eye. She had her eye taken out, etc. She lived a while longer. It was sad, but we are happy we had her.

oh gawd! never thought about the toilet. I'm fanatic about it though and ours are always lid down. I just thought, you know, as humans we have the ER, what do cats have? I liked the fact that they have 24 hr. care. Just in case.
