Another gold nugget gone, but not forgotten.....
I also seem to remember a 3.2 bar in Cherry Creek back in the 70s that used to have really good live music. Anyone remember the name?
Finally anyone remember the Irish bar that used to have very crazy things go on St. Patrick's day. Today I believe the owner closes the bar on St. Pats day.

I only went there a couple times, but do remember Muddy Waters.
And Paris on the Platte. Remember Cafe Euphrates and (briefly) Elrond's at 13th and Broadway? Great live music at Elrond's.
Round the Corner (that burger bar where you ordered by telephone) was once in Cherry Creek, wasn't it? Also Cinderella City? Anyway, they had 3.2 beer, and I believe there was live music on weekends.
But Shakey's Pizza also was in Cherry Creek, with banjo and piano.
The name of the Irish bar is Duffy's. I spent some hellacious St Patrick's Days there in the 70's/early 80's. Then they began closing for the holiday, it was just too much for them.
I believe they are now closed for good.

Mr. B! Whazzup? On post #175, you asked of Bob Martin.
Martin passed away in the summer of 1990. He was the most accomplished broadcaster in the history of Denver radio. He was the consummate professional.
He suffered through years and years of those losing clubs. He not only done the games, but also done the original "Sportstalk" on KTLN- 1280 am. Then moved to KOA in the late 60's. Looking back at those years, I only wished he could have called those 2 Super Bowl victories.

Speaking of negativity, this post depressed me a bit. But then I got over it. I think this negativity is an internal condition. The 15 years I lived in Denver were great years for me and even if they weren't, I'd not regret my past nor would I wish to shut the door on it. We visit Denver fairly often and everytime we go back, we see a classy thriving city. If you have a resentment, you can't just wish it away and choose an attitude of gratitude. If you're a spiritual person, you can put your resentments, fears, and harms done to others down on paper, share them with another, find your part, then go out and ammend the harm. Do that and the resentment is gone. This is an internal condition, not a Denver Colorado condition. Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is another blast from the past. Emerson St. East was a popular nightspot at Colfax and Emerson st. Good food, good brew. Quite a few Broncos from the 1977 Super Bowl team frequented it back then.

Boing Boing & Yelp? I found C-D while researching possible relocation moves. I thought the forums were just like an add-on bonus! Had no idea they are so popular. Finally found out what a "flame war" is...lol.
anyway - it's neat to see so many people have such good memories of Denver - thanks for the links!
