Thanks Kristen! I would love to live downtown! I'm itching to get back there for a visit and move! I've been looking everyday for jobs! My career path is in marketing and advertising so I figured I could find something in the downtown area. I'm somewhat entry level though so it makes it a bit more difficult!

More specifically, I think close to Lodo (Lower Downtown) would be preferable. There are lots of young people all over the place. If you have trouble meeting people, get a dog. You'll have 5 new friends in minutes. You might not know the person's name, but the dog will be your new best friend. Commons Park is full of fun people.

I would check out Congress Park, City Park, Wash Park, Platte Valley, Curtis Park, Cheesman Park, Cherry Creek, Highland. This website Denver Uncommon Photography, Your Source for Unique Denver Artwork has great photo tours of these neighborhoods and more. The traffic is not bad in Denver if you live in the city - it's driving to the burbs that is clogged.

GREAT information! I definitely want to get a dog when I get there...especially because I'll most likely be living alone. I love that what I pay for my portion of my 3 bedroom apartment can get me my own place in Denver....LOVE IT!

I currently work in Rialto but headed for Denver soon. My husband already moved and is working there since December. He lives in Aurora and it reminds me of Rialto TOOOOO much. We are definately looking elsewhere to lay roots....maybe alittle more into metro Denver. California life is awful in the Inland Empire. I grew up in No. Cal and miss it terribly but Denver here I come...

I can't understand why someone in their 20s would want to live in a suburb with married people with kids..... maybe I need more info on that area, but it sounds far from the center of things where all the action is. P.S. most of downtown is very safe!

I think her living downtown would be great IF her job was downtown. I dont see any reason for her to have to commute in and out of downtown to go to DTC for example.

And not all people that live outside the city center are a bunch of hicks. We have lives too. I think she would be perfectly happy living off Hampden where they are building alot of neat apartments near the rail. There are alot of cool apartments near Belleview and the freeway. I think she might enjoy living off Colorado Blvd and the freeway too. There are alot of neat things to do in these areas, and she could still take a train into downtown for an evening out.

I was trying to suggest an area more central that did not involve the expense and inconvenience of living downtown if that is not where her job is.

Even more great info! I've been searching for plane tickets to get out there to reaffirm I want to move. I'm trying to drag a friend with me for a quick weekend. I found roundtrip flight for $150 after taxes...so stoked about that! My only problem is I'm not 25 yet so renting a car gets way too pricey! Any recommendations on where I could stay hotel/motel wise downtown thats close enough to where I dont need a car to get the downtown experience? Or even somewhere thats close enough to the Rail
