Question From NC, need to rent a house with view

My retired husband and I moved to Grant Ranch in Littleton to be near our new grandson and his mommy and dad. We love the views here in Southwest Suburban Denver, but do not want to purchase a home until we are sure we like the lifestyle, etc. here. Any advice on where to start looking? I have spent hours web-surfing for rental homes but am not too sure about areas of town. I confess I am sort of snobby about nice quality, nice quiet neighborhoods, fenced-in yards, yards, etc. Plus we have three miniature dogs. We are looking in the three bed, two bath at $1200-$1400 per month range. Is that realistic? Where we are now we can look out from our deck and see lakes and front range. Wow. Does anyone have any advice about whom to call or how to search, or what neighborhoods to look in? I am sort of gravitating to the areas west of Wadsworth or Kipling, but we like closer in, too. Thanks to anyone who can offer advice!

If you want to stay in the southwest area of town, the first area that came to mind to look in was Grant Ranch. I know there are some scattered rentals around the area. If you want to go west of Wadsworth, you could look at Governor's Ranch, or south towards The Meadows/Columbine/Columbine Hills area, towards Ken Caryl.

I have found craigslist a good place to look for rentals, you can search by price, or by keyword. But you will need to know enough about the areas to know where things are. however most listings have pictures so you ca get an idea, and some have maps as well.

Are you renting now in Grant Ranch or is that just where your grandson and family live?

You can also try checking out RentClicks, http://www.rentclicks.com. It is more user friendly than craigslist.
