CA Mom: Most homes here have basements, at least that's my observation by using realtor.com

LFarber: Your price range is very low for Denver proper. Use www.realtor.com to scope out prices.

........................

Newbies...welcome to city-data, lots of good data here, already, in the forums. Use the Search function.

Pictures of most cities are found at www.city-data.com and drilling down into the state and city of choice.

One thing we seek to avoid on this site is the repeating the same info over & over....believe me, virtually everyone wants to know where are the parts of any town to avoid... where are the good schools.... where are houses cheap.... where is it walkable to the things you need.... etc...Newbies can help themselves get much better info, immediately, by using Search.

If SEARCH doesn't bring back postings that answer your interest, then by all means, ask all the questions you wish.

NOTE….Search is very specific....if you put in schools it will find every case of schools, but will NOT find the singular, school. It won't find word segments either, you can put in camp, and it will find camp, but it won't find the word camping.

Try the search engine with keywords like hike, hiking, camp, camping, skiing, snow, sports, museums, arts, food, restaurants, cuisine, winter, marketing, jobs, rail, train, pizza, chinese, italian, dogs, pets, commute, commuting, school, schools, education, teaching, Douglas, Arapahoe, and the names of specific towns or areas.... etc....

If you want to live in a trendy Denver up and coming neighborhood try Highlands or Sunnyside or Berkley. If you need "affordable" try Bear Valley & Harvey Park.

You can get single family houses in the city for less than $200,000. You just need to be extra cautious about the area, the condition of the property.

Also consider schools and the commute.

Loveboating, I've read some other posts from you, thanks for the "blunt" opinion on Colorado.

We've done our fair share of research and feel as though we'd be making the adjustment with regards to snow and cold weather but as Jamellan stated well worth the payoff as no place is perfect.

Jamellan I sent you a private message with a few questions, check your City-Data inbox.

Thank you all.
