Default Engineering employment market

Hi.

I have been looking for engineering work for a couple years in the Denver area. I see things like "~5% unemployment rate", though I hear from recruiters that the number of resumes to positions is 10, 100, 100+ to 1 in the area. And I get treated in what seems to me like a really unprofessional way (no returned calls even when promised, for example) by HR people and recruiters, at least relative to my experiences years ago (and on the coasts).

Does anyone have reliable statistics on employment rates for various engineering fields for Denver?

Does anyone else find it can be rather unprofessional in the area, at least in terms of recruiters, HR folks (even service at restaurants etc.)? Is it cultural? Maybe it's me? Maybe it's the times?

Thank you.

I don't have any stats, but this not returning phone calls is endemic to HR people. If they don't call you, they don't want you. It is not confined to Denver, in my experience.

I work for an engineering firm in Denver. What kind of engineering work are you looking for and what are your qualifications, i.e., education and experience. You can email me privately if you would like to discuss further.

Default Design engineer jobs in Denver area

Hi. I just read an old post of yours and was wondering if your company is hiring? My twin sister, husband and 2 children are looking into relocating by my family and I (we live in Wash Park/Platt Park) and her husband does chip design/CAD/design automation. I have no idea of any engineering firms in the area and would like to know if you can point me in the right direction. He has at least eight years working in his field and was working at Intel in CA (now working at home in DE) until a french company, Numonex, took over his group. Any information is greatly appreciated. You can email me personally at sunflowers00@gmail.com. Have a great night!

Thanks,
Patsy Lasater
