Moving from Cincinnati to Denver
I am moving to Denver at the end of September due to a job loss and am hoping that Denver brings a better job market for the accounting/payroll area. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks for the help.

Suggestion 1: Secure a job before you move.
Suggestion 2: Include in your post more specific information like
price range or budget for housing,
where you might work,
married, kids,
reasons you think Denver is good candidate city for your career

In most cases this is good advice, and I have actually tried it myself. I have found that it is very hard to get companies to consider someone who is not local. I did end up finding a job before I move, though it isn't an ideal job and will probably just be temporary.
Also, since he is moving because he lost his job, he might as well move first and then find a job. Its slightly better to be unemployed in a place you want to be than in a place where you don't want to be. Being local in Denver will make it MUCH easier for you to get a job in Denver because many employers don't want the hassle of dealing with people who are out of town. Good luck!

While in most cases I agree with Charles on the job thing, since you are unemployed, you might as well move if you really want to. Downside is you might not find anything in Denver, either, and be stuck here. It's a long way from Denver to Cincy. I would follow up on Charles' concern: "reasons you think Denver is good candidate city for your career" and do some investigating as to jobs in your field in this city.
