So much to do in Denver...
But pointless when you have no one to do anything with!!!
I moved here 5 weeks ago, I live close to downtown...
I see so many great things to do but my husband is on call 24/7 and when he's not working, he's sleeping.
I'm about to lose my mind. I want to go downtown but don't feel safe walking around down there by myself.
Anyone have any interesting suggestions of places to go all by your lonesome??
Thank you.

I'd suggest joining a Real groups make a real difference - Meetup.com group. It's a good way to meet people who share the same interests as you and people who are interested in making new friends.

And I wouldn't get scared walking the downtown streets. The worst run in you will have is some vagrant asking for spare change.

Heavens, you could go downtown during the day in complete safety. At night, maybe not, but you'll soon find some peeps to hang out with. Right now it's not getting dark till close to 9:00 PM.

I am downtown by myself every night around 9:00 pm as part of my commute home from work and do not feel unsafe at all. I always end up talking to someone else waiting for the bus. I have been here 3 weeks now. I have not found anyone to hang out with and really call "friend" yet but I am meeting people just by going places by myself. Just be alert. Be aware of what is going on around you and you'll be fine.

Just remember, if you don't feel safe, it's rather easy to get a concealed handgun permit in this state.

It was wonderful meeting the happy hour group. I missed the last one and am really bummed about that. Your right, they really are friends. I did mis-speak myself!! The point I was so poorly trying to make is I have been doing allot of stuff by myself all over the city and have been perfectly safe. Hugs and appologies to my happy hour friends.

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. I was insinuating going downtown at night... I know there is nothing to fear during the day.
But, it is so damn hot right now!
I will make myself get off my butt and be more independent. This is the first time I have ever lived somewhere and not had any friends.
And I will hopefully be joining that exciting bunch of Happy Hour go-ers!
Thanks again to everyone. It's very hard to stay sad or upset with all the amazing scenery around here.
