Just tract homes built out on the plains out by the airport, and it looks more like farmland than the "big city".

Se aurora is the snobby part of aurora. Pretty much all new, upper-middle class, and far from most of the rest of the metro. Wasn't a good place for me.

Vegaspilgrim, good job as always.

Disclaimer: I live off peoria (oh no!) between alameda and mississippi.:d
i was not trying to offend anyone i'm just going by peoples opinions, which are vast. Some people say gvr is a craphole and some say its great, same with aurora. At this point i don't know what to think, but i know you seem to be the most helpful and respectful. At this point it is not my decision which scares me, but at the middle of this week i will know where i will be living. Thanks for the advice

My girlfriend and I are new to Denver from Northeast PA. We are both highly educated, but in a not-so-great paying field (human services). We've been looking to rent or own since our arrival. We found a few very nice looking properties in GVR recently that we are going to check out. The feedback on that area is so black and white it is ridiculous.

No offense, but steveindenver, you have done nothing but slander the area, while others have given pros and cons (which I appreciate). I have a hard time taking what you say seriously and am curious why you have such a *thing* against GVR.
