Smile moving to denver

I am moving to Denver from the east coast. I was looking at an apartment at 1011 Colorado blvd. Does anyone know what area of Denver that is considered to be? Is it a safe area? It seems close to everything The apartment was very nice. Thank you for your help!

Hi. My husband and I moved to Denver (Wash Park area) one year ago from the east coast as well (now we have a baby too). I think your apartment is on the south side of Colorado Blvd and that's where my bank is and my gym. I basically am on that side of Colorado daily and I never got a bad feeling about that area. It's pretty active with lots of shops and restaurants. I believe that area is considered University Hills. There are lots of restaurants, Safeway, King Soopers..you name it, it's prob on Colorado Blvd somewhere. If you travel north on Colorado Blvd to 2001 (ish), there's a Museum of Nature and Science that is pretty cool. There's also a YMCA close to your apartment that I belong to. It's on Colorado and Yale. Traffic isn't the greatest on Colorado during early afternoon and rush hour, but that's prob typical anywhere you go.

Hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of any further help,
Patsy

This is a very nice area. It is at about 10th and Colorado, each block is a hundred numbers, odd numbers on the west. This is at the end of the Congress Park Neighborhood, very nice indeed. It is across the street from, the Hale Neighborhood. South of this neighborhood is Hilltop which is upscale. This area, especially along 9th, east of Colorado is the site of the Medical Campus which is rapidly vacating the site and moving to the new medical campus in Aurora. There are still numerous Medical Clinics there, as well as the VA hospital and Rose Medical Center. This area is planned to be a big redevelopment project and will be highly desireable place to live. I suspect that there are numerous apartments available with good values in rents as the student body is no longer there. The area around has nice shops, good bus access along Colorado.

As you go north on Colorado you will come to Colfax (15th Avenue). Years ago, it was somewhat problematic but today, as many areas, of Denver, it is much better. I have seen the changes and I do not consider the area a problem. Also, There is National Jewish Hospital, on this corner and gives a great deal of prestige to the area. North of Colorado, you will run into City Park and east of the Park the Park Hill Neighborhood, which many people desire to live.

West of Colorado into Congress Park, named after a nice park, are nice bugalow housing, good neighborhood, good access to the city, that I think will grow in value being next to expensive areas in Washington Park and near to the big redevelopment of the old medical Campus.

You are in to middle of great access to Cherry Creek area, upscale with good shopping. South on Colorado, you will run into Glendale (a separate small municipality surrounded by Denver), which is big concentration of apartments for young singles and has the associated youthful energy and problems. Further south Colorado comes into nice neighborhoods and very upscale.

I'm in NY/CT and also considering moving there in the near future...
Can I ask the range of rent you will be paying for your apartment?
