Default Easy DEN to COS??

Apologies if this thread is inappropriate, but I'm unsuccessful finding online info regarding quick transfer from Denver's airport to Colorado Springs. I'm flying in for vacation late August but with the Convention, car rentals are through the roof... It seems absurd to FLY from DEN to COS, & thought I could hop a quick shuttle to pick up a car in COS for the duration of my stay...? I'm used to non-stop shuttles between Milwaukee & Chicago... but maybe this isn't an option? Any advice or alternatives are appreciated!

Thanks!

If you're trying to get from Denver airport to COS airport, then this may be the only option - Colorado Springs Shuttle

If you're downtown on a weekday, you can take FREX to Colorado Springs (not the airport though) and try to pick up a rental at one of the downtown COS car rental spots.
Frex - FrontRange Express

I guess Greyhound also heads down there from downtown Denver (the bus station is across the street from the Ritz Carlton).

Might not be absurd to fly to COS...there are lots of UA flights to COS, I've flown them...they cruise at about 10K feet for 72 miles. Thing is, it's been on business so Mr. Cheap wasn't paying....now...if I had to pay.....

I appreciate the input... exactly what I was seeking. Bizzarly, prices have changed such that its CHEAPER to fly to Denver, then COS, rather than flying to Denver alone! So now it becomes how much time I wish to waste waiting for flight times vs "ride time." What a great site! My kids are moving to Denver in Aug, and your responses confirm the "neighborhood" is great. I lived there years ago, and still miss the "connect." Thanks again!
