which zipcode is best
If you were to live in an apartment which zipcode would be best in Denver taking into account schools (6 year old kid) and crime ? Basically I would like to move to Co but want to get an idea of cost of living/safety/schools versus Gainesville Fl. My rent here is $850 for 2 bd 1 bth near University/low crime/decent school area. How would that compare with Denver ?

There are many good places. As 2bindenver asked, where would you work or what types of areas do you like?

Agree with the above, plus I don't think any one area is "best". There are many areas that work for certain people. Give us a little more information and we can help you.

Well basically I am thinking about transferring with work so it could be anywhere in Denver since I work in banking and there are multiple locations. My wife wants to make sure that our standard of living is at least comparable and not wose especially with regard to schools/crime. I have been looking at apartments online to try and guage things but it is hard to tell which ones are in good areas and which in bad because for example on here Aurora gets a bad rap but many of the apartments which look half decent are in Aurora on the apartment finder website so I am trying to find a way to determine good and bad areas beyond just saying Aurora for e.g.

I think you'll have to come out here and look around to do that.

You should probably look up the crime stats for yourself. I'd hate to give you wrong information. I can tell you that most differences in crime rates won't be substantive. Compare them to where you live now. I live north, I know Broomfield is safe. I can't say crime-free, but certainly safe. Jeffco is huge, you'd have to google individual areas; ditto the southern suburbs and Adams County. There are a lot of places with Englewood addresses that are not actually in Englewood. Just a heads-up.
