I'm posting this because of the recent discussions on diversity in Denver and the off-topic parts re: racism in the South and the U.S.
Imagine if you live in Birmingham and this is what you see, wouldn't you be concerned when moving to an entirely different city in the U.S.? Perhaps just see if that area is like where you are coming from?
Comments anyone?
p.s. - this is in four (or five) series. Check out no. 2 where they show indocrination of the youth. nice.

Not really. Those guys are such a small group of people. Besides, some many people have moved around the country it's hard to find a homogeneous region anymore - especially places where there are urban areas and suburbs.
We're moving to Alabama. My wife is Jewish, well, "Jew"-ish, she's not too hard core.
We've met more Jews in Huntsville in two one week house hunting trips than in the two years we lived in Colorado. It's a coincidence - but still, it's pretty interesting.
I'm more worried about bugs, humidity, no Trader Joes, and distance from big airports with cheap airline tickets.
There isn't a huge pop of jews here. At least not compared to other populations. I mean, there is a group, def. substantial, just not compared to say, Hollywood, FL.
Also, unless you are non-white, you can't even think that you know what it's like. And perhaps you aren't the slightest bit concerned because you are white, majority, no?
Many people have posted here who are non-white and want to know about Denver because they are coming from places just like Birmingham, Alabama, the place that was where the film was shot (that I posted).
Yes, they are a small group, the haters that is, but still. There have been threads on this forum about diversity and a lot touched on racism and such.
The only reason I posted this is because as I was watching, I thought of comments seen on the Denver thread. I really think that many here and everywhere seem to think this just doesn't exist. When it so does. Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately, my DSL doens't do videos well, so I can't watch it. I"ll take your word, wanttomoveeast, on what it's like to be non-white, since I am white.
Thank you Katiana. I really appreciate your post. This thread was posted to bring about awareness. In my last semester of college, I took a summer class that was titled Hate. It surprised even me, and I thought I had seen/read it all. Many of my classmates were completely shocked and thought this kind of thing was ended in the de-segregation days. Unfortunately, it thrives.
I've just finished watching the fourth series, and it's alarming about how these groups are targeting the young, misguided. Since single families and abuse is rampant these days, these groups are targeting teens who are runaways or feel otherwise unloved.
I just watched the leader of the Aryan National Front talk to a 6-8 yr. old. He said, what are you? The kid, "national socialist". The leader, "where does Adolf Hitler live?" The kid, "In the heart." The leader, "[laugh] Heil Phillip (the kid)".
Other than the non-white view, I try to envision the white view. I do understand how bigotry survives, and I have empathy for my friends who are white and struggle to understand the non-white.
When I was young, I thought that maybe I'd eventually get to a place where race doesn't matter, however, given the next presidential election and the state of this nation, I don't think it'll ever go away.

Yes, there sure were some posts on the Denver diversity threads that sounded like they were straight out of the neo-nazi/aryan/white supremacist groups. They weren't posted by any of the regular denver/colorado posters, rather by others saying that denver/colorado is no different than anywhere else (as I was reading them). As a Jewish person, or as Charles was alluding to, more a Jew"ish" person, I tend to be sensitive to those issues. Denver and Colorado as we are today are a world apart from many other areas of the country in terms of tolerance, acceptance, and dare I say it, even diversity. In a good way.
Thanks Suzco. I totally agree with your post, and that's why I made this thread. I too am sensitive to those kind of posts that you speak of, I think it's my background more than anything, and it's something I struggle with internally almost on a daily basis.
My boss is jewish and a wonderful, kind person. Through her I've learned many jewish traditions and history that I didn't know before. I am very glad to have met her. A person of my extended family made the most obnoxious statement about jews and I must say I was very disappointed.
I suppose I must agree that Denver is not nearly as bad as other areas of the country. Although I do think that this kind of thinking as shown in my link is existent here and on this forum.

We don't have the numbers for diversity quite the way people seeking diversity seem to want. All I know is that among my friends and family, it's hard to parse the races/religions/colors/beliefs/persuasions. We've intermingled and lived and loved together. (My grandparents arrived in Trinidad, Colorado right about the turn of the last century, circa 1900, having fled whoever/whatever it was that was trying to kill them in the old world.) As my kids say, we're all mutts. Colorado's been a good home.
Wanted to rep you, but "have to spread it around."

What exactly is the point of this post?
Do you honestly believe that this is an accurate portrait of the vast majority of the south or southerners in general?
This film was produced sometime around 1990 or 1991, judging by the hair styles and old cars.
The film, furthermore, states that Neo Nazis exist all over the country. Why are you making a post to deride the south?

Exactly...
A lot of people are sort of sick of hearing sharpton, jackson, and other opportunists shooting off their mouths and trying to give people guilt trips.
This forum probably isn't the right place to discuss multicultural celebrations which is usually mentioned in the same conversation as diversity initiatives which is basically sugar coating affirmative action which doesn't differ too much from reverse discrimination.
