At 38/hr he or she is selling you to the client for 80-100/hr. It's a dirty industry.

With 3 years you are not quite junior but not really senior. Further knowledge of specific packages etc (Websphere, IBM's horrible RAD development tool, Weblogic, time spent in the EJB world, light SQL duties with various packages ...) are going to make a difference on your rate.

Denver historically was a pretty good java town. C# has made a lot of inroads.

Go here: rmiug-jobs : Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group - JOBS

I see a job posted less than an hour ago: "Junior to mid level Java Developers - fulltime in DTC"

Good luck.

You'll get more substantial jobs at dice (dot com). My hubby is a Java Eng and that's where he does all his serious job hunting as it's more of a specialty site for engineers. Also, get yourself hooked up to LinkedIn. He's gotten some interest from that site too.
