buying a home in Denver
Hi-i posted my thread as a reply to another post! oops! but I was wanting to know if there are some nice, clean, affordable parts of Aurora to buy a home? I am originally from CO SP, and I don't know much about the neighborhoods. I have heard awful things about GVR and Montbello. I also heard that Aurora can be rough as well.
I am a single, professional black female and I work as a traveling nurse, so I also want something safe while I am gone for months at a time.
Any suggestions out there? they would be greatly appreciated!

I guess your price range would dictate where to look. If you travel a lot, a condo or townhouse in Stapleton would be good as you wouldn't have to worry about yard work/building upkeep and the airport isn't too far. I think you might find a 2 bdr. condo in Stapleton for around $250K.

you can search for available houses on REcolorado.com - brought to you by Metrolist Inc. and see if there are houses in your price range in other areas - like arapahoe county, or centennial, or near where you will work.

In the other post the OP refers to she states she has a Buyer's Agent.
If someone is already working with (under written agreement with) a broker, other brokers are not allowed to solicit business from them.

Looks to me sportsfangal has not signed an agreement and is just is just talking to a buyer's agent.

We are all licensed as brokers here in CO. The only way I can be an agent is with a signed agreement - either buyer's agent or seller's agent. I can be a transaction broker with or without an agreement.
The OP didn't say she was talking to a Realtor, or a broker, specifically mentioned a Buyer's Agent.
I always prefer to err on the side of caution.
Besides, to openly solict business is against CD's TOS.

hi there!
I did meet with a buyer's agent but does it matter that the areas he wants to show me are areas I don't want to be in? he doesn't seem to be listening to my needs and is focusing me on a type of home that doesn't appeal to me. any suggestions?
thanks!

Then you met with a broker, and you should continue to interview other brokers until you find one that you think will do a fine job in finding/negotiating/getting to closing for you.
