Default Media Industry on the Front Range

My fiance and I are planning on moving to Denver from Los Angeles next year once she graduates with her Bachelors in Theatre (where she hopes to teach and get involved in local Theatre and Staging in Denver and Boulder.) I'm hoping to establish residency and then finish my bachelors in Colorado in an environmental field. I'm an audio engineer and video editor out in L.A. (primarily in Post Production with some music experience) and have no dilusions regarding the comparability of the industry in Colorado...BUT, it may still be a useful source of freelance income for me out there while trying to get established and finding other work.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a vibe for the state of the audio/video industry in Denver, and frankly along the Front Range cities in general. I lived in Phoenix for a long time prior to L.A. and know it can be a serious struggle for gigs, but certainly possible if you work hard enough at it. Part of my concern is having fairly limited contacts in Denver at the moment. Anyone worked in audio, video, post-production or live sound in Colorado have any wisdom to impart? Any of that New Mexico film post-production material ever make it up the Rockies? Just trying to get to know the market and scene a little better. Thanks.
