I commute an hour each way to work. I have 3 Hummers, I drive each one to work everyday. I drive one to work, park it, train home and drive the other to work. I do that on all my vehicles everyday and I don't rape the environment because I buy Al Gore carbon credits so its all good.

Right?

Not really. Are all three the big hummers? Or do you have the Hummer, H2, and H3? You should really use the H3 for local trips and grocery stops as it's more fuel efficient.

I live in Thornton, commute to Broomfield and have 3 vehicles.

'01 Jeep Cherokee
'82 Honda CB750 motorcycle
'70 VW Bug (currently being converted to electric)

Each vehicle has a purpose. Here's my mileage breakdown from the past year.
Motorcycle - 11,000 miles;
Jeep - 4,000 miles
VW - 0 miles

Once the VW is finished I'd expect that to change to
Motorcycle 4,000 miles
Jeep 2,000 miles
VW - 9,000 miles.

So effectively once the VW is done, I'll be cutting my oil dependancy by more than half. Then I'll just have to install solar panels on my roof (house and car) to charge the bug and I'll be really set.

So not all of us Suburbians drive Suburbans :-D Actually in the last 4 months I've driven the Jeep about 100 miles. I wonder if the gas is going to go bad sitting in the tank... or I wonder if someone has stolen the gas out of it already?

I work for different clients around the state, and like to have the peace of mind of driving a good, solid SUV no matter what the weather. And my husband and I look for out of the way roads in the mountains that require high-clearance 4-wheel drive.

The only thing I found amusing about that statement was that whenever I see rollovers, it's always the SUV's. I personally think that my Hyundai is just as solid as the Hyundai SUV. I do get the high-clearance mtn. areas need 4-wheel drive. Again, my subaru (4 wheel drive) did just as good as a job.

Screw the H2's and 3's. I drive the straight Army style hummers. I love it. But I buy carbon credits so it's ok.

Hey folks.

Castle Rock here.
10 min. commute to work, 0 min commute for the hubster.
1 Camry, 1 MiniVan, and 1 Vespa that usually nets me 75 mpg, and is my primary mode of transport, but I haven't been on it here yet because I still have to have it re-jetted for altitude.

50min or so commute to downtown Denver. I do that 3 days a week. I have a Honda Element, but when I go downtown I use the Light Rail & walk to the station. The other 2 days I drive to Aurora- about 20 miles one way- give or take. My Element gets the same mileage as my old Civic.
