Default Alternate route from Denver to Boulder

Does anyone know an alternate route from Denver to Boulder. I am trying to figure out a way to avoid the traffic on football Saturdays when going to the CU games.
Thanks,
Mike

You could take I 25 north to Hwy. 7, then turn west.

Default Hwy 93.

We live on Green Mountain and you can take 6th Ave right out to Golden and hop on Hwy 93. It takes us between 25 to 35 minutes! Go buffs!

Or Colorado Blvd (Hwy 2) to Brighton, then Hwy 7 to Boulder.

It's hard to come up with an "alternative" without knowing what the OP's regualr route is. All of the routes suggested would work. If you take vegaspilgrim's route, you almost pass by my house!

Get on I-25. Go to the Erie/Lafayette exit (Highway 7), take Highway 7 into Boulder. 7 becomes Arapahoe Ave. in Boulder.

Read all of the above posts.

To be absurd, if you want a straight line route that avoids all highways (not that I would suggest it, but it will let you understand where the areas are in relationship to each other) you can take Downing heading north. At 36th St. or so, bear slightly right to Marion, then bear left on 38th St. to Washington. Stay on Washington until you're way north to just before 168th St. where you bear left and it turns into Baseline. Take Baseline all the way to Boulder.
