Littleton- Dangerous areas to avoid?
Hey Guys!
I am looking to move to littleton at the end of this year and had several questions.
1) is there any area of town i should avoid due to crime/gangs? I've heard the area near Broadway and littleton blvd, but are there any subdivisions or areas that I should steer clear of?
2) How long is the commute from Littleton to downtown denver? to the airport?
3)what are the main shopping/dining areas of littleton? What is the best hotel to stay in while I am house hunting there ?
thanks in advance!

1. Haha, I personally don't think there is anywhere to avoid in Littleton. If someone is scared of the worst part of Littleton (even if there is one), then they've never been anywhere bad.
2. To downtown, 25-30 minutes roughly during commute time, sans weather.
To the airport, I'd say pushing 45.
3. I don't know. I find it a little odd that you are focusing just on Littleton though. A particular suburb isn't usually a destination, a metro usually is though.

It can take 45 minutes to the airport from Downtown if you hit any sort of traffic. Littleton could add another 30 minutes to that easily.

One could also take Belleview, or Hampden (via I-25) to I-225 and get to the airport that way, thus avoiding downtown.

Dangerous? I used to live near Broadway and Littleton Blvd and would hardly call it dangerous. A few blocks east of that is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the metro area and police protection is excellent. Gangs exist everywhere, but you won't find them roaming the streets in either the City of Littleton or areas with Littleton Zip Codes.
The downtown commute is pretty quick, but the closer to Santa Fe Rd. you live, the faster...and there you have the Light Rail option. The airport was about 40 minutes by taking Belleview to I-25 and I-225 north. I made it downtown in 20 minutes along Broadway from Orchard.
The best value hotels are along C-470 and in the Tech Center, but we put up relatives in extended-stay condos rentable by the week, just west of downtown Littleton.
Shopping? Enjoy the joy of discovery! There are lots of great areas within a few miles of the center of Littleton including the brand new Southglenn "Lifestyle" center.
I also originally focused on living in Littleton and ended up just outside the city. My wife & I agreed, "let the best house win"...and it did.

Which Littleton are we talking about? City of in Arapahoe County? Unincorporated Jefferson County or unincorporated Douglas County?

jbruno1. Not to worry about Littleton. I lived there for 22 years. Rented apartments on south Windermere, south Datura, no problems. Bought a condo in Highline Meadows complex (Broadway and Arapahoe to Ridge Rd). Only had one problem in 14 years, that being my car got egged along with other cars. Moved to the Grand Jct. area in the early 90's. If I was to move back to the front range Littleton would be it.
