Default Commute from Evergreen to Lakewood

I have read through the threads to get a sense of what it would be like to relocate to the Denver area (working in Lakewood) but cannot get a good gauge on what it would be like to commute from Evergreen. There was one post that gave some rough time estimates in the winter (My real concern!) but it said that it depends on where you live in Evergreen. If you use downtown Evergreen as a reference point how would that commute be to Lakewood? Thanks!

2beindenver is right. Lakewood is a large suburb, from the Denver city limits west to Golden. It's also pretty big from north to south. Get some addresses and plug them into mapquest. In the snow, everything can change. It's hard to generalize. Most of the winter, the drive will take no longer than any other time of year.

Man you guys are tough... Center of Evergreen (the town) to Denver Federal Center. Google maps tell me 20 miles/28 mins (35 in traffic). Is that accurate and what would the problems be when the snow hits? (Time delays/road conditions/vehicles best-suited)

Thanks!

Morrison is a good idea. Golden would be another option.

I would say that 25 min is very accurate from Central Evergreen. Less if you lived closer to the 70 etc.....

The federal center would be a very easy commute from Evergreen.

When the snow hits things slow down a little but Evergreen/70 has much better plowing compared to most places around Denver. Jefferson County puts out a ton of resources up here to keep the roads clear.

You also won't have any serious traffic at all unless there is some kind of accident.

I take the 70/6 to Downtown denver and I live further back than central Evergreen and I do it in 45minutes easy. Mapquest says it will take 47min. so its pretty accurate.

Lots of people comment on what the commute or snow conditions are like in Evergreen when they don't have any long term (or any for that matter) experience living here. Be careful who you listen to.

EDIT

If I remember I will time it tomorrow. Main st to the exit at the federal center.

It took me 23min today to get from main st (73/74 intersection) to the kipling exit and I even stopped and went through the drive through at mcdonalds on my way.
