Hello! I just wanted to see what people thought about the recent election and the School Bonds which, for the most part, failed. I am in Cherry Creek School District and I am so proud that even in this tough economy, the people who live within this district were willing to pay extra to ensure they have a great school system for their kids. My neighbor, who doesn't even have kids, told me that he knows how good schools and low crime usually go hand-in-hand, and I couldn't have said it better myself.

When we were househunting, we were really torn between CCSD and Douglas County School District (Parker) and I am so glad we chose CCSD. I think it's rather pathetic that the Douglas County voters (who live in one of the wealthiest districts in the state) couldn't find the equivalent of a couple of cups of coffee per month to help fund their schools. What do they think is going to happen to their overcrowded schools?

Go Cherry Creek School District! Thank you for reaffirming my choice to live within the district and for doing the right thing by our kids!

I completely agree with this. The same thing happened with District 38, Lewis Palmer School District in Monument, zip 80132, the fourth highest median income zip in Colorado. The mill levy override failed there - again. Very disturbing.

The DougCo. Library Bond failed, too, which is disappointing because in this tough economy libraries are more important than ever. Like you, we are also very happy to have moved to CCSD this year.
