What the heck are you talking about --- where is Comedy Connection??? Do you mean Comedy Works? There are only about 2-3 comedy venues downtown. Good lord, I wish you'd leave the advice giving to the people who actually live here and have been here a very long time.

^I don't live there anymore.
But I spent three years of my single party hardy after college life there. I probably could give better advise on the bars and music venues of the inner city neighborhoods of Denver than most people who still live "In Denver" (aka the suburbs) and know only LoDo when they go to the city for a night out once in a while.

I use to live two blocks from Sanchos and Dulcineas. I spent too much time there. Mix that with debts, and other family issues I moved back to the Burgh. I love the Burgh though but still miss Denver and these places.

Yeah, that is totally true about some who just come to lodo to party and then go back to their burbs.
I lived in Capitol Hill for 15 yrs. before moving to a burb, I miss it so much. We kept moving farther from the Capitol until we were right next to Wash Park and I swear I wish I would've tried to buy over there, it's just expensive.
As to bars, I've noticed that smack downtown there are hardly any more laid back spots. There used to be Duffy's and I'm so sad they are gone. Now we still have Shelby's and a few others down south Broadway, but nothing right downtown. All I see are these froo froo martini spots anymore.
Also, I think it's ok for you to give advice, you used to live here. You just don't anymore. As a newbie, I just wouldn't want to hear from someone who moonlights here and really doesn't know the in and outs of the city.

HA! Awesome isn't talking about martinis. But those of us who live here know what Dulcineas is about.

Yeah for Sancho's! I moved here 6 months ago and i've met some very cool people at Sancho's (and Dulcies), some of my best friends in my new city. I'm not into the dead scene at all, but the drinks are strong and cheap and the people are great. Plus it's an easy walk back to Corona.

^Just as long as you appreciate the Dead, and recongnize Jerry as a very great musicain that he was. I had a person kicked out of Dulcineas because somebody was bashing the dead. Not a cool thing to do there. Dulcineas was more for the deadheads. Sanchos is where all the college kids hung out at that thought Phish was cool.

I'm not for the dead, but the atmosphere at Dulcineas is just great. It's what is completely lacking in downtown and one huge reason I lived on the Hill for so long.
