Denver Nightlife
My husband and I are visiting for the weekend. Any recommendations for great bars with great music and atmosphere. We are in our mid to late 20's.

I visited this summer and was directed to the touristy downtown area near the baseball stadium (typical), but the reason I am telling you thins is because most everyone was your age - not mine!
I found a cool looking neighborhood back behind the REI shop on the river, but didn't get to spend any time over there.
Also there is a real gritty locals joint called something like the "3030" just North and East of the baseball stadium where I met some cool locals.

If you're looking for a trendly, lounge atmosphere, check out The 9th Door on the corner of 18th and Blake. They have great mojitos!

It really depends on what type of person the OP is. I was always into the dirty, smoky, Real Jazz scene that you had at El Chapulptepec. My friends took me into the 9th door when I lived out there and I almost went insane. I could see people from the 9th door going insane at El Chapulptepec.

I use to always go to Cervantes or Quixotes in Five Points, or Dulcineas on Colfax. They are all owned by the Bianchi brothers. I was into that hippie Jam band scene though. I doubt too many people on this forum are.
Benders was also a very unique Rock/Blues type bar. I thought it was a cool venue how they had the bar and music area seperated. It isn't far from downtown. It is walkable for me, but I use to walk from Glendale to downtown all the time. I am crazy. But a cheap and quick cab ride would get you there in minutes.
There are several places on Colfax.
You obviously have the Ogden, Fillmore, and Bluebird for theater venues. Those are cool, but you would need to see what is playing when you are visiting and decide on a ticket. There is a bar on East Colfax getting close to Colorado Blvd that Bob Dylan use to play at. I never saw a show there, but I heard it was cool. I stoped in there to get a beer once one a night there was no music and it seemed cool. I forget what it is called though.

I did not like this spot, I don't know, it had this really uncomfortable feeling there.
