Post Student Housing???

I plan on moving to Denver in June of 2009 and attending the community college of denver. I was looking at the Regency Student Housing for a place to live for the first year. I won't know anyone so living in an atmosphere with others my age is ideal. I wanted more info on that specific housing or other student housing that is available. I need something cheap! Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Inn at Auararia is located right downtown, that would probably be a better choice. The Regency is located very far from the Auraria campus but they provide shuttle service.

I moved to Denver four years ago to attend UCD and ended up switching to CCD when I changed majors. There was no student housing at that time and now there are three options, all very expensive and not at all like a real college dorm exprerience. If you're looking for a young party atmosphere I would suggest looking at CSU in Fort Collins. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of school spirit at Auraria campus. No homecoming. No college neighborhood. If you don't know anyone in Denver why are you choosing CCD for college? Seems like you could go to a community college almost anywhere. I was lured in by UCD's Music Business Program, but then I learned how selective and competetive it was and saw them turn away accomplished musicians, so I knew I didn't stand a chance. If you're willing to move for school, pick a good one. I just moved back to WI and live in Milwaukee and absolutely love it. So many house parties you can hop from house to house on the weekends. The university distributes a brochure entitled "Throwing a House Party: A Guide By and For UW-Milwaukee Students and Neighbors"

I'm from WI too. I used to live in Kenosha, so I wanted something new. Colorado is a place I've always wanted to go, so I thought now to be a better time than any. I chose CCD because I can't afford out-of-state tuition at a University. I'm not relying on much financial support from family, so I need to go the cheapest route for me. I'll most likely transfer to a University withing a year or two, as long as I've got my residency. For now, I just want to get their, get situated, and just have time to figure the area out more. Once I've been there awhile I'm sure I'll have more figured out. Thanks for your suggestion on Milwaukee and I'll keep that in mind too.

Too bad nobody else has bothered to post anything on here to help. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for school. Front Range Community College operates in Fort Collins and you can transfer to CSU after 2 years. Fort Collins is known as Fort Fun or Fort Chronic and I would have to agree, it's definitely the funnest city in CO.

I would personally say move to the Regency as you are a new student from out of state who wants to meet people and get settled...Auraria campus is a commuter school so student living is a little more sporadic than say Boulder or Fort Collins...There is also
more reasonably priced apartments for Denver in Capital Hill , many students decide to
live there....I went to CU Boulder eighteen years ago...but now I am returning to get a masters at CU-Denver...Old guys like me make that campus age range a little more diverse as well....I highly recommend going to School at CU-Boulder or CSU next year
to get the full college experience....Denver is not really the total package for college life...Great place to live though...

One more thing to keep in mind. You are not considered eligible for In-State Tuition unless you are 23 years of age or older, regardless of how long you live in the state. As long as your parents still live in WI, you will have to pay Out-Of-State Tuition until you turn 23. I went to UCD for one semester before they hiked up my tuition 50% between Fall and Spring semester. I had to drop out and get a full-time job for 3 years until I was old enough to receive In-State Tuition.
