I'm from back east and know that the ghettos of Philly and Ny are like. There's nothing like that in big cities out west save for certain parts of east L.A. maybe. I've driven all through Denver for 5 days looking for apartments and the very worst parts that I have seen (colfax around Aurora) don't even come close to what's back east.

Denver has a very safe feel to me. I've lived in San Fran , L.A., Reno (ick) Seattle and a bunch of others. Denver is one of the safer cities I've seen.

That was quite the post! No wonder you moved on. As for the garden hose, please enlighten. I can't for the life of me figure that one out, but I admit to being a naive suburbanite.

I agree with the rest Denver ghettos are absolutely nothing like east coast ghettos.

Denver is really patchy you can be in nice neighborhood go 2 blocks and have a liquor store with bars on the windows. A block from upscale condos you can find run down weekly hotels. It has got to be the most patchy city I know of.

I don't know anywhere I would be scared to go, some places I would avoid especially at night not that they are deadly just no reason to go there are why make the odds of crime higher then normal. But nothing like the east coast.. here you have neighborhoods where you just do not go.

If you live in the cheapest rundown place you will probably have problems with the neighbors. but the odds of taking a wrong turn and getting car jacked are probably the same as getting hit by lightning.
