Hi all,
My husband and I are in process of making the decision to move from New York City to Denver or not. We visited in August for four days and fell in love with the Lower Highland and Highland neighborhoods. We've been working with a real estate agent to find the perfect home, but before we take the plunge and dive into this decision we'd like to spend quality time living in this neighborhood.(Also, I'm a literacy specialist, and I am looking to visit schools that week, places that I could potentially apply for work in.)

So we thought we give it a shot and see if anyone is interested in exchanging homes for a week, February 15-22 (President's Day week).

We live in a 1-bedroom condo in Brooklyn Heights, an upper scale neighborhood in Brooklyn. The place is large enough to sleep up to 4 people (couple and kids maybe, 1 bed, L shaped comfy couch that I often fall asleep on watching tv) Fully functioning chef's kitchen, jacuzzi tub, separate shower, washer and dryer in apartment. We are close to a plethora of subways, both express and local (for those familiar with NYC, 2,3, 4,5,M, R, F, A, C, D, G) that will take you to all of the sites New York City has to offer. We are within walking distance of the Brooklyn Bridge promenade and, of course, the bridge itself. It's also a really neat neighborhood connected to hip Smith Street in Carroll Gardens and historic Cobble Hill.

With prices be so incredibly ridiculous for hotels in NYC, we thought you might be interested in this arrangement. You get to stay at our home and experience NYC without the extra hotel costs.

If you are interested, please reply. If anyone has advice on other arrangements, besides a hotel, feel free to advise away.

Thanks for reading this far.

J

My husband would love to do this cause he's from NY but his job is in the air now and we have a dog.

Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Well, let's keep in touch and see what plays out in the coming months. We actually have two dogs, so maybe we could also take care of your dog, while you take care of ours? We were going to send them away to "camp" upstate, but if you are willing they could stay in the apartment and we could have our dog walker take them out for their daily walks. Just a thought.
