Last December right about this time I was scraping the frozen ice off my sidewalk, after shoveling 2 feet of snow on my driveway. I got a notice from the HOA that I would be fined. I remember slipping on my rear. It was at that point I started thinking that time is much too short to deal with this for 5-6 months out of the year.

Its 53 outside my Gilbert AZ window right now, and we are experiencing a cold front. A COLD FRONT AT 53. Its a dream come true. I made it through the summer with out catching on fire, and Im going to cruise through winter with out bruising my buns.

Good luck with the -19 degree temps....how horrible.

That is 100% correct and an excellent point. Falling on the ice & snow is not fun when you are in your 20's but you will probably laugh it off and just have a bruise. Falling on the ice when you get older is a lot different and you can end up with hip replacements, other injuries and/or dead.

I hear you on the AZ "cold front".

no one is denying that falling on ice is not fun at any age.

Thanks, and as per another posters note, I got fined because of my lack of willingness to shovel Ice off my sidewalk for 3 days. I knew I was supposed to but I was trying to adjust to the cold. Im from Portland Oregon Originally, and it takes quite a while to adjust to temps below 40 degrees. Besides, Im such a uncoordinated klutz that I slip on my own shoes, I really hated the added threat of slick ice everywhere I walked.

Another note, don't try and join us right now, I tried to make a trek down to AZ when I lived in Loveland, and I got stranded in the snow in New Mexico in some town also known as Las Vegas (NM). I wouldnt want that to happen to anybody else. Fly into our airport, its very cheap from Denver.

Trade in those hot chocolate drinks for cold beer and Margaritas

I've done my share of slipping. Slipped right in the middle of the street on an ice patch.
It didn't make me hate CO or blame the Chamber of Commerce.

Where did you live to experience half of the year with feet of snow and ice? Certainly not Denver; which brings to mind the title of this thread ...

Have fun when the lows are in the 100s at night this summer in Arizona.

Wow L, I'm so glad you know how to regurgitate the forecast for us. I think I, along with everyone else in Denver, and those thinking of moving to Denver, forgot how to look up the forecast. Can you write a step by step tutorial on how you did that for us?
