I thought that I had lost my iTunes library when my HP PC crashed, but iTunes had a security system that stored it in a file that I was not aware of. I went to the Apple store in Cherry Creek mall and the guys that work there filled me in about it verses calling and paying for an Apple tech.
I don't know what a Kingston Data Traveler is, is it an MP3 player?

Geek Squad has been able to help a few friends and they surprisingly know what they are doing. Not sure what they charge or if you can find freelance tech cheaper but thought I would toss that out there.

I have a much easier, cheaper and faster way to get your music back. First of all, screw those pieces of crap itunes and ipod. No flexibility, no WMA, too much reformatting bs. Just get a plain, simple MP3 player - plays everything and it is totally portable from machine to machine. More GB memory per dollar too. Simple interfacing.
Then go here:

Have you tried taking the music off the CDRW and putting it in a folder on your PC, then import to iTunes?

I wonder if changing the format of the music from whatever it is to something else will help. Like changing it from a wave file to mp3 or something else? Odd that iTunes is not accepting it as it has it's own conversion process? Copy the folder to a new folder before you do the experiment so the originals are not lost.
