I live in Boulder and I got scared when I drove down Colfax one time
because it's big and there are a lot of old buildings that look dangerous.
Isn't Colfax where most of the crime occurs in Denver?? One time I went to Good Times on
Colfax and I felt I was going to get shot! Maybe it's just me being afraid in a big city!

If you like Ethiopian food, try the Africana Cafe. It's the building decorated with the big mural just to the east of Senor Rita's and The Elm. It has a very cool ambience inside.

Axum is decent.

If you want the best, try Habesha on Colfax betwen Ivanhoe and Ivy on the north side.

Always eat where the cabbies eat.

Good Friends closed last Spring and will not be reopening. There are three owners of those three restaurants you mention and Goodfriend was the last name of one of the partners. She retired from the business and Annie's needed a new location so they moved in.
