My posts have validity. I'm offering a differing opinion of Denver, mainly because nobody else on here seems to be willing to say anything that isn't a ringing endorsement. I get ticked when people like you overstate the greatness of Denver and mislead people who are looking to relocate. People like you are doing them a disservice by inflating Denver to New York like proportions. Denver isn't for people looking for a fun college town or for those wanting to experience life in the big city. It's a bedroom community for outdoors enthusiasts and it's only big city living to people from Wyoming and Nebraska (no offense to the OP).
I'm pretty sure wattomoveeast and I were the only people who even attempted to offer any actual advice to the OP. In fact I believe she said:

Not Harvard, but cost effective...for the lower tuition it was ranked 14th in Newsweek. The piece of paper doubled my salary, so I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I've always thought so too. But the graduates there have gone on to very successful careers (I thought), so maybe it's worth it to them.

Did you go/finish there? I did and thought it was pretty awesome. I felt like the profs. were highly educated and did a wonderful job of teaching me. I still keep in touch with some of them. Their administration and counselors did a great job of helping me transfer from CCD and my counselor especially did a fantastic job of guiding me and looking out for me.
oh and here here to subsound, getting my degree did open doors for me.

No, I started off in college in Boston (the equivalent of DU), and transferred home, because it was a waste of my parents' money. I would've looked at DU or CU, but my parents wouldn't let me go to school in Colorado (DU isn't worth it anyway).

I completely agree; I am thinking about getting a masters through UCD..Perfect for older working students and younger people who are not concerned about traditional college life..I enjoyed the party college scene in my younger days up in CU. Boulder.. Been there done that..

The reason why I asked if you went to UCD, which by the way is neither CU or DU, but a campus in downtown Denver. Same school as CU, just another campus, is because I feel that if you haven't attended these schools, you really don't have any bearing on criticizing them. Saying things like, DU isn't worth it, how would you know if you've never attended DU?
I never went to DU, so have no coment there. I do know plenty of lawyers who attended DU's night school and think it's an awesome school. I agree that DU is very pricey, but to comment on the quality of the school would be really lame on my part as I didn't attend there.
