Default what to do on new years

My roomie and I are new to the Denver area. How do we ring in the New Year? We are both young (23-24) and do not know very many people in the area. We love drinking, bars, and general shenanigans. Recs?

What part of town are you in? Thanks for starting this thread. For years I lived on Capitol Hill and me and my friends would just walk to downtown and hit any bar that wasn't charging an outrageous fee. There are two awesome sets of fireworks -- at 9pm and midnight, smack downtown. They shut down the mall shuttles on the 16th St. Mall and for someone your age, I'd say that's the best place to be.

We are now living in Thornton and even the buses don't run that late, so we are sort of desperate for entertainment. No way would I drive on that night. There are tons of drunks on the road, police checkpoints, not to mention drinking and driving is a very stupid choice on any night. I'm afraid we are going to end up toasting Dick Clark in my living room. (nooooo!!!!!!)

Anyone else in our predicament?? Zion, what are you doing?
