The smaller fans have to run too fast to move enough air. That's why they are so noisy.
That's a Triangle Engineering fan rebranded (store brand for Grainger) and I am considering it as I could get it locally and not pay Triangle's shipping. You are happy with it? My research (as of a couple of months ago) didn't show any reason not to be, I don't think they change a thing. Triangle is supposed to be one of the best.

That fan has worked well each summer since 1992. I'd buy it again.
