Default Question about Fingerprinting Process for Teaching License

I submitted my application for a Colorado initial teaching license, as well as sent my fingerprints to CBI as per the requirements. I understand that the time for processing the fingerprints is approximately 10-12 weeks, but I'd like to know if there is a system or phone number where I can verify the status of my processing. I've been through the US immigration procedures and they keep an online database; however, my search for such a system with CBI has been fruitless. Any advise is welcomed. Thanks.

Real Estate Brokers go through fingerprinting ans background checks too.

I could look at the Real Estate Commission Website for processing information. Maybe it the same procedure with teachers?

I answered my question today after making a few more phone calls. The CBI was able to look up my fingerprinting application and gave me contact information at the Colorado Department of Education to inquire further as to their processing procedure and dates. I am more than amazed by the generosity and pleasantness of the people I spoke with today. In NYC I would never have received such a welcoming response unfortunately.

This may be the information you already received, but here is the website where you can check on the status of your application. Just click on "Application Status Check" and enter your info, and it will tell you if your fingerprints have cleared, as well as if your license has been issued. And believe me, they take the full 12 weeks.

Good luck having the same response with the people at the Colorado Dept. of Education.

I was going to suggest the same link that the poster above just posted. That is how I tracked my status

Send EVERYTHING to CDE with delivery confirmation. They are by far the most inefficient teaching agency I have dealt with (I have had much better success with Maryland, New York and Washington). CDE lost my transcripts twice and took forever.

Thanks everyone. The application status site wasn't working for me for a while. It now does and states my fingerprinting requirement has been met. This is of course thanks to a wonderfully helpful woman at CDE who put my status update into the system while I was on the phone with her. She did tell me that my license would take probably the dreaded 12-week wait provided no one loses any of my paperwork (cross my fingers)! My understanding is that I can still apply for positions online and state the anticipated date of acquiring the license. Let the games begin...
