Default College graduate relocating to Denver!

Someone might have already started this type of thread but mine is going to be a little bit more specific...

I'm 23, just graduated college and plan on moving to Denver within the next 3-4 months. After doing some research I've become interested in the LoDo district and am looking for a decent studio apartment thats relatively close to a park because I plan on getting a dog...

How far is the LoDo district from the city and are there any other decent suburb areas with a younger crowd and a nice park within walking distance?

I majored in Hospitality and I'm doing an internship at The Dallas Country Club which has many connections so i'm not too worried about finding a job before I move there this summer. Also, exactly how far is The Denver Country Club from the LoDo district and the city? I possibly might get a job there and don't wanna live too far from it. Any advice would help me greatly!

I don't usually recommend LoDo to newcomers. Some will love it, but I think it's too noisy for most -- plus it's annoying to deal with all the party crowd all the time.

If you like living near LoDo, and money isn't an issue, you may like the apartments around Commons Park. Commons Park is NOT a dog park, but you'd never know it based on the number of people out there daily with dogs off leash -- the police seem to turn a blind eye to it. The cheapest places are in the Commons Park West apartment complex. Lots of people are there with dogs.

Generally speaking, the Capitol Hill / Uptown area is going to be a lot better deal in terms of rent. Both are relatively close to City Park and Cheesman park on their eastern sides, respectively. Neither park has an off-leash dog park, however.

Denver Country club is a straight shot down Speer from downtown. It's also one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Denver. A better option is to live in the Governor's Park area around 6th Ave and Pennsylvania, or so, you'll be very close as there are a number of more affordable apartments around there. Governor's Park is also close to the south part of Cheesman Park and "Little Cheesman" for your dogs, as well as the smaller Alamo Placita Park.

Studio apartment or one bedroom in Wash Park area might be a great fit for you--close to Denver Country Club and your dog will love the proxemity to the park itself..The Wash Park area has quite a few neighborhood restaurants and local watering holes--sits kind of between downtown and Cherry Creek ( can kind of have the best of all hoods) close by --and Lodo is just a bike or cab ride away...Very young athletic crowd around the hood-One of Denver's IT places to live..
