Our daughter just finished her master's in secondary ed. last summer in Georgia. She's now endorsed in the following areas: HS social studies, HS geography, middle grades social studies and middle grades reading. She's also planning to take the certification exam for middle grades math this spring. She's always wanted to live in Colorado since she was in high school and had the opportunity to go on several trips to CO. She's sent resumes to 20+ schools thus far. Any tips from anyone as to what her next step(s) should be? It's really hard financially right now for her to get to CO b/c she's not on a contract with a real living salary, but is instead doing lots of subbing, babysitting, telemarketing, etc.

The topic of teaching comes up often. We have a lot of threads on that, full of good info. Two ways to find the threads with the info:
1. Go to the Index listings in the Denver and main COLO forums, there is a heading for teaching and/or schools.
2. Use the search tool with whatever keywords apply.

You/she will spend some time reading threads, but in an hour you can have your fill of the collective wisdom of our members.

If you/she read a thread and have a question about something in that thread, hit the reply button and ask the question within that thread, however old it may be. This keeps knowledge in as few threads as possible.

Best of luck to your daughter, if she gets out here she'll love it.
