Smile Denver or Colorado Springs... Good areas and Bad

Hi I am going to move to colorado and I am not sure where yet I have been there 2 times and just fell in love! I am from Minnesota and I love it here but I think Colorado has everything MN has but a little more and a lot better but I need help.. I want to get a studio there but just like Minneapolis/ St. Paul there are bad areas and the prices of the apartments are cheaper so I dont' know what an average range of price is for a small studio.. Also I am going there by myself and I don't want to be alone in a high crime area... If u know the twin cities I would like to move in an area Like highland park st paul or uptown or dinky town.. Also what is the true difference between cs and denver pros and cons, If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!!

I was born and raised in Colorado but, now live in Kansas and miss it dearly!there are only a few places I would suggest Lakewood but not past Colfax or past 6th Ave and Wadsworth, Golden. The prices are reasonable and the area has great shopping and dinning! It's close to the mountains and @ 30 mins from Downtown Denver!Hope this helps u! :-)

Choose Denver if you prefer big city life. Choose Colorado Springs if you don't want big city life but still want most ameneties found in a big city.

Choose Denver if you want to have great outdoor activities within a 30 minute to 2 hour drive. Choose Colorado Springs if you want great outdoor activities outside your door and up to a 2 hour drive.

Choose Denver if you are looking for greater job opportunities. Choose Colorado Springs only if you are already set with a job.

Neither city has a long list of high crime areas. In Colorado Springs, the area southeast of downtown has the worst reputation, pretty much anywhere else is safe. In Denver, it's the northeast part of the city and adjacent suburbs that have the bad reputation. But that's only a rough guide, there are good areas mixed in with the bad, and bad areas mixed in with the good. In the case of Denver, the southwest part of the city, southwest of I-25 and Colfax Ave, is another run-down area.

A good area for newcomers is Capitol Hill, IMHO. It's in the middle of everything, so it gives you plenty of opportunity to discover the whole area. It's also loaded with relatively inexpensive apartments. I like the Governor's Park area, around 8th and Pennsylvania. It's on the quieter (southern) end of Capitol Hill, but still an easy walk to South Broadway, East Colfax, and Downtown.
