Default Centennial...especially the Piney Creek subdivision area

After looking at over 130 houses in Douglas and Arapahoe County (bless my realtor for being so patient with me ), we just had an offer accepted on a house in the Piney Creek subdivision in Centennial. If you are familiar with the neighborhood, I'd appreciate hearing what you think of the area, and I'd especially love to hear about good family practice doctors and pediatricians in the area. And any information on Smoky Hill High School would be much appreciated by my daughter (who'll be a junior there next year).

My son went to Smoky Hill and I was a school bus driver for Cherry Creek.
Love the area you are going to, it's nice!
My son was in the IB program and it's a great school!
We had a Dr....McLaughlin , at Aurora Presbyterian Hospital. He was wonderful! Now it's his son and MY son makes an appointment with him everytime he visits! My son lives in Rhode Island now.
I think you and your family will be very happy!!!! Good Luck!!

I went to Smoky Hill HS, graduated from the IB program. I would absolutely recommend this school. Not just because I went there, but because it really is top quality. If you use the forum search tool, search specifically for posts from my user name, with "Smoky Hill" as the keyword-- I've written a lot about it. Sheridan1962, I'm sending you a DM.

Very nice area. We don't live too far away (Saddle Rock Ridge). The best pediatrician (in my opinion) is Advanced Pediatric Associates. My infant goes to Dr Lynda Melton and my 6 year-old sees Dr. Paula Levin. Both are great and I don't think you'd have a problem with any of the other doctors either. They have 3 different branches, but the one we go to is off Smoky Hill and Himalaya. Their number is 303-693-1404. I spoke with Dr. Melton about how long the girls can go there and she said they see patients up to 23 (some are still on their parents insurance).

For family practice, my hubby and I cannot be happier at a facility called Clinix. They are a little further out there (Arapahoe and Yosemite) but I love them because they have a lot of specialists on staff so you don't have to get referrals all of the time. I get my annual girlie exam there and just had a few moles removed. They offer a program called the VIP Physical and they really focus on natural healing methods instead of always pushing pharmaceuticals at you. They have a website, CLINIX Healing Center and their number is 303-721-9984.

Also, since you are in the area, don't forget to utilize the recreation facility called The Trails. They have workout facilities that you can pay a membership fee for but also have a lot of stuff for kids (swim lessons, ballet, karate, soccer, basketball, etc) that you can just pay for the session. My 6 year-old is in swim class, $40 for 8 classes, twice a week. I'll probably sign her up for soccer camp next summer. Their website is Home. It's part of the Arapahoe County Parks & Rec Dept. Awesome facility.

Glad to help as I love this side of the city. Oh! Since you asked about pediatricians, I will mention that the Smoky Hill Library has a great kids reading program and storytimes. It's a great library anyway (gotta love a library with its own coffee and smoothie bar!) to utilize. And, when you have to register your cars and change your drivers license, go to the DMV off Arapahoe. Nice facility and hardly ever a wait. By the way, since you just moved here, expect your Jury Duty notice any day now. Both my husband and I got ours in less than a year after declaring residence. Yippee.

I'll send more if I think of anything. If you have any questions, you can send me an IM.
