Don't mind steve...he is extremely anti-suburb. Apparently, we're all supposed to live in the city proper and bike everywhere.

Funny thing with him is even most of the city of Denver isn't up to his standards-- he frequently talks trash about Cherry Creek, Washington Park, and everything south, everything west of I-25, including Highlands. To this guy if you aren't living within walking distance of Denver's oh so fabulous world renowned nightlife districts along Colfax or Broadway, you are living in "the sticks."

I don't trash the areas just answer questions with information. Washington Park has its merits, as does the Highlands, however given the requirements there are often better options. Not always though.

It seems to work well all over the world for billions of people. Living an unsustainable life, driving big SUV's everywhere for everything is unique to North America. Now either everyone else in the world is wrong, or folks in North America are. Which side do you fall on?

And why does either have to be right or wrong? Why can't they just be different?
ETA - not everyone in the burbs drives an SUV .... and I'd venture to guess, some folks who live downtown have them...

Even if I lived in downtown I'd want an SUV or a pickup. It's a pain in the butt to own a home without a utility vehicle. Have to rely on expensive home delivery or rentals to do any work or buy any major appliances. Lame.

Read the news lately? Focus in on the part where the United States is bankrupt. Think about why.

You mean Wall Street? You know, the place that doesn't have houses and is a dream for people with your urbanist approach to living.

What areas of Aurora would have similar atmosphere as Parker (i.e. well performing schools, safe family friendly neighborhoods, short commute to airport area)?
