I second these suggestions and would like to add the Brown Palace (where most dignitaries stay when in town), Hotel Theatro next to the DCPA, the Magnolia and my whimsical favoite the Hotel Monaco. The Ritz Carlton is the only hotel shooting for the 5 star ratting with those that have just opened. Also, the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek North is worth a look if you want to be right amongst exclusive shopping and fine dinning.

The new Four Seasons in downtown Denver is slated to open in early 2010, and I agree with Denver Aztec the Brown Palace pretty much rules supreme in Denver..
