Summer in Denver versus Midwest
Which do you prefer? (if you've experienced both)
Denver's summers are hot, frequently in 90s, though no humidity.
Chicago's summers can be very humid, but much less frequently >90.
Which are more pleasant?

I've experienced Denver, Missouri, Iowa, and Texas in the summer. Give me Denver any day.

I grew up in the Midwest. HATE going back in the summer because of the humidity. Denver summers are better by a landslide. And, if it gets too hot you can go to the mountains to cool off.

Denver in a heartbeat. No humidity, frequent sun..
I grew up in Chicago. I do not miss those hot humid summers one bit.

That's not true that Denver has "NO" humidity in the summer. It has far less humidity than the midwest, northeast, south, or west coast but it still can get humid at times. Usually though when it gets humid in Denver in the summer the temperatures are cooling down at the same time.

Have lived in Champaign, IL and Denver. Champaign is south of Chicago, similar weather, a little hotter, but not as hot, temp wise as Denver during the day. The verdict? Denver in a heartbeat! There are nights it doesn't get below 75 in Champaign, and it's almost always humid, very humid. I can remember seeing the steam rise from the cornfields in the mornings there.

I think the humidity levels in summer here actually go up to a comfortable level, so your hands don't feel like sandpaper! But not humid enough to be sticky/uncomfortable.
I grew up in Kansas City and the last time I was there in summer, I couldn't wait to leave! I always felt dirty, and the air stunk like mold and moisture. I felt like I was trapped in a terrarium full of mosquitoes.
Denver may get hot during the day, but once the sun starts going down, it gets very comfortable- great "porch sitting" weather almost every night in summer. Summers in Denver feel fairly similar to summers in L.A.

Having lived in both, I would generally say Denver in a heartbeat BUT I do miss a good, daylong T-storm!

You are right. There IS humidity here, but it is so much far less than Chicago. Way more tolerable!

and I also loved the cool summer nights here. I rarely had to run my AC last summer.
