I live in boulder and work in golden. rent that cheap can be anywhere if you only need 2 bed rooms in an apartment or duplex.

depends on the lifestyle you want. westminster, golden, louisville, broomfield, thorton, arvada & englewood are cultureless wastelands of suburban meaninglessness. there are no real local restraunts or attractions. forget urban environments or walking anywhere. if all you do is watch tv at home and go to the movies and eat at applebees then good luck you'll fit right in! but if you like to really live move to central denver. otherwise please don't move to central denver

This post shows a total lack of knowledge of the suburbs of Denver. Obviously, you have never been to the parks, lakes, reservoirs, open space, trails that exist in these cities. It is surprising that you would post this nonsense and you do not know of the old shopping areas, urban development in Arvada, Englewood, Littleton, Louisville etc.

I would suggest you get on the light rail and see the areas on foot; you know walk. You need to get out of your car. What you will find is many urban areas that are walkable like the center of Englewood, old town Littleton---all with great transportation and certainly an urban experience.

Boulder is not the center of all the universe, and is a very nice city. Denver is even much better with the many neighborhoods. The other areas of the surrounding suburbs are not what you think and cannot be characterized as "wastelands". Your lack of education, experience and maturity shows with this post.

^^^I was just about to say the same thing as livecontent. I have lived in Louisville since 1982. I can tell you Louisville is NOT "cultureless wastelands of suburban meaninglessness. there are no real local restraunts or attractions. forget urban environments or walking anywhere"

Louisville has its own downtown, with a real Main St. with boutiques and non-chain restaurants and coffee shops. City Hall and a modern, state of the art library are located downtown as well. One block east of Main, on Front St., is the Steinnbaugh Pavilion, named for a local businessman. In the winter the pavilion serves as the warming area for the ice rink, and in summer it is used for a weekly concert series. Louisville has a number of festivals. The Fourth of July festival is especially nice, with the city council members grilling free hot dogs and brats for the attendees at the Community Park. On Labor Day, Louisville has the second largest LD parade in Colorado, celebrating its mining and labor history. In December we have our own Parade of Lights, with lots of local participation.

Not walkable? Louisville has a system of walking/biking trails that covers the entire city. You can go from any "Point A" to any Point B" and hardly get off the paths at all, if that's your choice. There are underpasses under S. Boulder Rd. and S. 88th St. so kids can bike/walk to school.

Take a gander at the website:
