Default Chip design jobs in Metro Denver area

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows of any jobs for design engineers doing chip design in Denver? My brother-n-law works from home in this field in Delaware and he and my twin sister would like to move back west, maybe here by us. He's a software engineer and has about 8-10 yrs experience in his field. He used to work for Intel, until his group was bought out by a French company, whom aren't doing well and are cutting back pay and jobs.

His job is very technical and he doesn't think there are any chip design jobs here. Here's a job description he sent me:
------------------

*design automation engineer

or perhaps CAD engineer (not to be confused with someone who uses AutoCAD).

KEY WORDS:
scripts or scripting
perl
Unix
synopsys
cadence
mentor graphics
design sync
CAD tool
EDA tool
tcl
environment

My kind of job is really only going to exist where there is a team of design engineers doing chip design (CPU, memory, flash, ASICs, etc).
-------

If you know of any jobs in his area or know of "connections" in his field, let me know. We would love them to be here by us! If you know of any or know of anyone he can speak with in regards to jobs, please let me know. I appreciate it!

Thanks,
Patsy

I don't have any connections for you, but he's quite wrong if he thinks there's no VLSI/ASIC/ other IC design jobs in Colorado -- we have a high concentration of such jobs.

Boulder County has a good number of such jobs; it's a center for computer storage (Maxtor, Seagate, Quantum), computer peripherals (Cirrus Logic, Emulex, Adaptec, Fujitsu, StorageTek/Sun, also IBM), CPU Design (AMD in Longmont), programmable logic (Xilinx in Longmont) and other such products. Fort Collins (HP, AMD, Intel, Agilent, National Semiconductor, LSI Logic) also is a place to look.

The defense and aerospace industry in Denver and Colorado Springs also hires a number of such people.
